Description
Here we have this hand and a half Writhen long Sword. This piece is based upon a 15 Century German sword. The sword is named from its writhing twisted contorted Hilt. I have taken the Writhen theme and added a writhing thicket of thorns Pattern welded Blade.
The pattern is a complex twisted Mosaic blade made from 3 twisted bars, Each bar is arranged as a mosaic grid and then twisted to ad Chaos. The twisting produces a twisted, trippy, Thicket of thorny Pattern, like something from a Grimm Fairy tale!
The Writhen guard is cast in bronze and made by My good friend Tod (of Tods workshop fame), the fluted twisted handle is African Blackwood. It is a hand and a half handle but feels amazing two handed as the back hand fits onto the slender pommel stem.
The Blade is 36″ long slim and stiff, and light for its length .at 2lb 12oz. This is a very elegant form of sword, purposeful and very Wieldable. It truly feels amazing in the hands.
I would be happy to make a Scabbard for this sword, please enquire for a price.
