Description

This sword is based on a Type O Viking age sword from Vestre Berg, Løten, Hedmark, in Norway. Dated from the 10th century. I have used the original as inspiration for my version.

The blade is patternwelded The 3 core bars are twisted patternweld bars n twisted clockwise then anticlockwise and then clockwise again. The edge wrap is 500 layer random pattern damascus . This is a traditional method for constructing Viking and Saxon blades.

The guard and pommel  are sterling silver, with Carved Fleur de lis and a single garnet set on either side of the hilt . I have added twisted silver and copper wire to the pommel as a highlight to them…

The handle is bound leather wrapped over a wood core.

I would be happy to make a scabbard for this sword please enquire.
