Description
Relic
Relic is my attempt to make a sword that has been aged to look like some of the blades i see in the Museums I go to. However it is still a very usable and sharp sword, as if a heirloom piece that has weathered the centuries wearing its dereliction with pride.
The Peterson Type M guard and pommel are one of the simplest Viking pommel shapes. Relic has a wrought iron pommel and t guard forged to shape, ground and then deeply etched.
The handle is bound leather wrapped over a wood core and has been heavily distressed, as if rotted away, burned and abused over the centuries. It is however a very comfortable grip. I have added a single garnet into the “dereliction of the worn handle.
This is a light and nimble sword.
