Description
This damascus Broad axe is forge welded up from two billets of Metal. The body of the axe is formed by folding a laminated piece of wrought iron and steel back on its self , then another 300 layers of damascus is then inserted at the edge and the whole axe forge welded together giving 300 layers of steel at the edge .
The intersection between thew iron and Damascus is cut in a toothy way to give the undulating intersection of the edge and body , flowing like the Fjords archipelagos and islands of Norway.
The pattern in the Damascus is formed when the hammering used to make the axe pushed layers beneath each other, the process of the making is written in the steel!
