Description
I have been perusing the idea of a blade that mirrors the old rusted blades is love so much in museums, many of which i have had the honour to measure.
Derelicte is homage to those blades. Envisioned as a family heirloom, passed down and cared for. Its past lost in time…Maybe even a sword from a Viking burial brought back to life many centuries ago, dug up and re hilted having a second life as a Hero blade…
This is a 31″ long sword blade with a fullered section. It would be an appropriate blade for a broad and sturdy early Migration period or Saxon blade. The blade is constructed from 3 intermittently twisted core bars showing alternate straight and twisted sections. The 3 steels used in its construction can be seen as bright layers and 2 darker shades. There is a high layer Damascus steel edge.
I would be happy to hilt this Blade please email for a quote. Ideally as an aged piece sympathetically matching the Derelict nature of the blade.
